Tostones with cheese for frying are a typical dish of several Latin American and Caribbean cuisines. They consist of thick slices of green plantain fried twice until golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They are served accompanied by queso fresco or queso para fry, which melts slightly on top of the hot tostones, creating a delicious combination of flavors and textures.

Ingredients:

2 green bananas
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt to taste
1 block of Mucho Gusto Queso para Freír

Preparation instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them into slices about 2 centimeters thick.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet and cook the banana slices until golden brown and tender, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  3. Remove the banana slices and mash them using a tostone utensil or the base of a glass.
  4. Fry the flattened banana slices again until crisp and golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Season with salt to taste.
  6. In the same pan, cook the cheese until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve the tostones with the slices of Mucho Gusto Queso para Freír on top.
