Cinnamon sugar frying cheese is a traditional dessert in several Latin American and Caribbean cultures. It consists of queso fresco or frying cheese that is sliced, fried until golden brown on the outside, and served sprinkled with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients:

1 block of Mucho Gusto Queso para Freír
Vegetable oil for frying
1/4 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Honey or maple syrup (optional)

Preparation instructions

  1. Cut the cheese into thick slices about 1 centimeter thick.
  2. In a large skillet, heat enough vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil coats at least half the height of the cheese slices.
  3. Fry the cheese slices in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove the fried cheese and place it on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  5. In a small plate or bowl, combine the sugar with the cinnamon powder.
  6. While the cheese is still warm, drizzle each slice into the cinnamon sugar mixture, making sure they are completely coated. Place the battered slices of frying cheese on a serving plate.

If you like, you can drizzle some honey or maple syrup over the cheese to add extra sweetness and it can be accompanied with fresh fruits such as strawberries, blueberries or apple slices for a combination of fresh and sweet flavors.
